Server Log Files

When you access this website, the hosting provider automatically processes technical data transmitted by your browser — such as IP address, date and time, the page requested, the amount of data transferred, and the browser used. This is necessary for the technical operation and security of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is not combined with other data.

Visitor counting

In addition to the hosting provider's automatic server logs (see above), we ourselves record a line with the timestamp, IP address, page visited, the page you came from (referrer), country, location, region, postal code and time zone, as well as a rough device/browser category (e.g. "mobile, iOS, Safari") and your preferred browser language — each technically derived from the IP address or the browser, not the full, individual browser identifier string, so as not to engage in device fingerprinting. This list is limited to the last 3,000 visits — older entries are automatically deleted as new ones are added; individual entries or the entire list can also be deleted at any time. Access to this list is limited to specifically authorised staff, through a separately secured internal area with three distinct checks (password, Microsoft company sign-in, employee ID number); it is not passed on to third parties and is not combined with other data. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in being able to track website usage (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Guest Wi-Fi registration

To access our free guest Wi-Fi, when you register (wlan.html) we collect your name, email address, phone number and room number, plus automatically the time and IP address. The purpose is to match Wi-Fi access to your stay and to enable identification in the event of misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); without this information, Wi-Fi use is not possible. The information is kept for the duration of your stay and deleted afterwards. Access to this list is limited to specifically authorised staff via a separate, password-protected internal area; it is not passed on to third parties and not combined with other data.

Extended tracking (only with your consent)

If you actively select "Accept all" in the cookie notice, we additionally collect: a device fingerprint formed from your screen resolution, graphics card, audio output and installed fonts, which allows your device to be recognised on future visits; whether you have been here before and how often; which pages you visited, in order, within a visit (click path); how long you stay on a page; and, if you additionally confirm the separate location prompt from your browser, your geographic location. This location prompt is shown to you directly by your browser, independently of us — we can neither trigger it nor bypass it. The legal basis is exclusively your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without consent, this extended tracking does not take place; our basic visitor counting (see above) continues independently of it.

On the booking page, with your consent we also load the Google Ads Google tag to measure how many booking requests result from a Google ad. Only the fact that a request was successfully submitted is transmitted — no names, email addresses or other form content. Provider: Google Ireland Limited, privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future:

Cookies and Local Storage

This website itself does not use classic cookies for advertising or analysis purposes. Instead, your browser's local storage (localStorage) is used — specifically for:

The install prompt (“Add to Home Screen”) remembers when you have closed it, so it does not reappear on every visit.
The cookie notice remembers that you have already seen it, and your choice (accepted all or necessary only).
With consent: a random identifier as well as the number of your previous visits (see "Extended tracking" above) and, only for the duration of the respective session, your click path so far.
If the website is installed as an app, a service worker caches pages you have already visited so they also work offline.

This information remains exclusively on your device and is not transmitted to us or third parties — except for the values that, with consent, are explicitly transmitted to our extended visitor counting (see above). You can delete it at any time via your browser settings.

Embedded Third-Party Content

Some pages embed content from external providers. As a rule, this does not load automatically but only once you click the relevant preview tile — only then can that provider process your IP address and set its own cookies.

YouTube videos (video library on “Warth am Arlberg”): the provider is Google Ireland Limited. Clicking a video establishes a connection to YouTube. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Google Maps (directions map): also Google Ireland Limited, loads only after you click “Load map”. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Snow report (intermaps.com): delivers the live winter sports report for the Warth-Schröcken ski resort, loads only after you click “Load snow report”.

Online reservation and online check-in (easyresv3.wintersteiger.at): the provider is Wintersteiger, the reservation system loads only after you click.

Ski pass tickets (skiarlberg.at): purchase and processing take place exclusively via Ski Arlberg — we are not a point of sale. This tile, too, loads only after you click.

Webcams Ski Arlberg: the same live cameras that Ski Arlberg (skiarlberg.at) also shows itself. Provider depends on the camera: Panomax GmbH (panomax.com), Feratel media technologies GmbH (webtv.feratel.com) or foto-webcam.eu. Each camera opens individually in a popup only after you click it — only then is a connection established to the respective provider.

Booking Requests and Contact

Your details in the booking form (name, email address, phone number, dates, message) are transmitted securely to our mail server when you submit the form and forwarded from there to us by email. You automatically receive a confirmation at the email address you provided. Your details are not stored permanently on any server — they are processed solely to send these two emails. Contact our team: sport@knitel-arlberg.com.

The WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled message to our number. The provider is WhatsApp Ireland Limited; its privacy policy applies. The connection is only established once you actively click the button.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and restrict the processing of your data, as well as to data portability and objection. Simply contact us at sport@knitel-arlberg.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian data protection authority: Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at.
